The Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills is centred on the development of practical knowledge and development of self-awareness. Your study sessions will be very hands-on, and will focus on nurturing the core counselling skills that support work of all levels requires, including such roles as mentoring, key working, care planning, teaching, and pastoral work. You will engage in practical exercises and role play, developing self-awareness and empathy, learning to read body language, understanding ethics and boundaries, working without prejudice or stereotypes, giving and receiving feedback, and taking part in group work and discussions. Entry Criteria Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment. For some of the programmes we offer you will require: 4 GCSE qualifications at or above grade D or 3, or equivalent level 1 vocational qualification. Other requirements:
TIMINGS
Our Level 2 courses usually run in the evening between the hours of 5.30pm-9pm for fast-track courses. The session is divided into two parts. In the first part of the session you will be learning about counselling skills theory and the second part you will be practising your helping skills. HOW WILL I BE SUPPORTed?
All students will have access to their tutor via the online student portal and through tutorials. Your tutor will advise you of when tutorials will take place. When is your next course taking place?
